Born 2 Raze Hell... What Does It mean?
Raze- To tear down, destroy, demolish, level to the ground.
We are Born 2 "Raze" Hell. Christ gave us all the power over hell, and we are suppose to use that power. You might ask why we use the number 2 instead of the word, "to". It's not because of orginality, but because it is not through the 1st Adam that we have this power, but through the 2nd Adam, which is Jesus Christ.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8)
The word destroy, is not really the best word to describe what Jesus did to Satan and all of his works, a better word is that Jesus RAZED hell. Jesus didn't just destroy everything of hell, he also demolished hell, and he leveled hell to the ground. And He has also gave us that power.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19)
We have the power over hell, and there is nothing that hell can do about it! Satan can't harm us, while we're walking all over him.
How Did It Start & Progress
Born 2 Raze Hell just started as a name back in Feburary 2012. Or so we thought, God had other plans. His plans included the ministry doing many, many different things. Oll in which we had no plan on doing. God gave us the name, which we needed for our new ministry, mainly for us going into the prisons (Little Rock Men's Unit especially). God was also the one who had the idea of using "2" instead of "to". On Feburary 14th, we went in to the Little Rock Men's Unit (LRMU). We had a great service, and the same for the next few months.May came around and God told us to do a skit/drama. We said alright, now what song to use. We, and I mean we, picked one of ApologetiX's (a Christian parody band) songs, "Smart Blest Man" a parody of ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man". It had a good beat to it, so we thought we would do kind of a dance to it. Well, after about a week or so of "working" on it, and after God had enough of a laugh. He gave us a song to use. We thought that the dance was coming together very well, or atleast until God told us to use Carman's "The Champion". We worked with this song and got it really good. Then we looked back at what we had, and said, "We were just about to bring that...thing inside the MEN's prison! We would have had every man get up and leave after that!" But it wasn't God's will that this ministry fall apart only after a few months. We kept working on it and preformed it in May. The men loved it! Now in May, God told us to create a magazine. We alreadly had a xerox machine, and some paper. June 2012, we released our first magazine. It went over very well and we decieded to do another one the next month. So now the ministry of Born 2 Raze Hell had become more than a name, it was also a magazine ministry and a drama ministry. July came and we took our family vaction. We went up to Wisconsin Dells, WI. Though on our way up there, God gave us another skit to do, and this time God told us the song to do, SaltBox's "Here We Are". Our vaction soon became a time to practice and talk about how to do the skit. Also God provided us with a sewing machine. This time we were going to make costumes for the skit. Bewteen all of us working, and everything else, we worked on the costumes along with practicing. We did this skit in October. Another great turn out. Let's back up just a little. Right after God told us about the second skit, God gave Jeremy the idea of doing an actual play. Back in 2010 we went to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN. While there we saw a musical called "The Miracle". It was the Passion of the Christ, but it had a twist on it, Satan was in it. And it was basically the battle between Jesus and Satan through Jesus' time on earth. I (Jeremy) knew we could do it. I kept constanly asking Richard if we could do it, he kept saying that it was too much, that we couldn't do it. God told me that we could, and I was believing that we could. Finally I gave up on asking Richard about it. By this time it was already the end of September. Once we finished doing the skit to "Here We Are", I started working on the music for the play, which at the time was called "The Miracle" and later became "Break These Chains...Let Me Live Again". I spent 3 months working on the music, day and night. I had to take a 2 hour play and make it into a 1 hour play, since that's how long the service is in the LRMU. Also I had to make it playable that 3 people could preform it. Towards the end of November, God finally changed Richard's mind set and gave him a vison of what the play is going to be. Though God's idea was more than just a passion play, it was going to have a different meaning. When I heard that it was going to be different that what the actual play was, I got a little disappointed. But then Richard said what it was going to be, that disappointment left very quickly. Though the music didn't really change that much from the orginal I had created, it was just about changing the perspecive. I finished the music about Mid-December 2012. And that was when the name of the play became "Break These Chains...Let Me Live Again" (BTC). Richard had an idea on just having plain and simple costumes, once again God had other plans. After Christmas, Hobby Lobby had a 60% sale on all of their Christmas items. We decided to go and grab a few things to help with the costumes. We spent about 3-4 hours looking and decieding on what we could use what for what. When it came to check out, we had to actually check out in two seperate orders, due to how much we had. We spent $280 on Christmas items (toile, ribbon, tassels, ornaments, etc.) all for our costumes.
January 2013, a new year, and a great year. The front cover of our magazine for January 2013 said, "In 2013, Satan's Gonna Get A Lot Of Born 2 Raze Hell". We claimed that saying for 2013, and Satan did get a lot of us. The first week we started on costumes for "BTC". We worked on costumes up until March 11. We preformed "BTC" for the prisons on March 12. During those months, all we really did was work on costumes and practice. We did this almost non-stop. We had a deadline to meet and we didn't have much time to spare. "BTC" came out to be 50 minutes long, with 22 costumes and 19 different characters. It was a long process, and we had many things that we had to overcome, like costumes not fitting properly, and many alterations. After March, we took a little break. We were so tired after working the past six months (starting with the music arragement all the way to the first preformance.) Also Jeremy was getting ready to move to Little Rock for college. We all had a little concern for this due to what we do the most is plays and skits, which require practice...together. How were we going to practice when the one who does most to the plays and skits is 100 miles away. We all thought that this might be the end of Born 2 Raze Hell. In June, Stryper, one of our favorite bands, was on tour and was playing in Dallas. Once again, God took one of our family trips and used it for his will. The concert was Friday. We drove down Thursday. Got to the hotel and we're all excited. The concert came and the best thing was that we actually got to meet with the band before the show. We got autographs and talked with all the members. It came down to it that we found out where each one lives. Michael, the front man, lives in Boston, MA. While Tim lives in Nashville, TN; Oz lives in Vegas, NV; and Robert lives in LA, CA. They just put out two new albums in 2013 and did one national tour. The distance from Los Angeles, CA to Boston, MA is almost 3,000 miles. And we were worried and complaining about 100 miles. They have to do the same thing we do, they have to practice. That trip to Dallas wasn't that much for our entertainment like we thought, it was actually a eye opening message from God saying, "That what ever I put together, no man can destroy it." AMEN!!! We enjoyed the concert and came back home to contiue with the ministry. Our church, Round Rock Church, asked us if we would do our play "BTC". We agreed and the day got set, August 4. We started getting ready for the show. God told Jeremy to add some lights to the show, and bring it up a notch. Jeremy then went to Richard about the idea. Richard was a little reluctant on the idea, more work than what this play was already. He finally agreed and said we can add some of our lights that we already had from dances that we used to put on. We had a strobe light, becon light, mirror ball, and a few others. We discused about where to put the lights in the play. Finally figured all that out. August 3 came and we went down to the church to set up. We got to the church about 9 that morning and didn't leave until 6 that night. The next day came and we preformed "BTC" infront of our church. When we finished, our pastor was in tears along with many others from what they had just witnessed. Everyone loved it. From this point on, Born 2 Raze Hell was not a drama/skit/play ministry, God took us up to the next level, we were now a theatrical preformance ministry. Also we didn't just add a few lights, like we thought. We we finished, we had 5 strobe lights, 4 becon lights, 4 spotlights, a fog machine, and 4-16ft rope lights, and about 400ft of extension cords. When God said to take it up a notch, this is not what we had planned, but this isn't our ministry, it is God's, and he has the final say. We did "BTC" that October for the prisons. Next in line we started to work on re-doing our very first skit, "The Champion" which we changed the name to "Let's Get Ready To Rumble". We also had to bring this one up a notch to match "BTC". God told us to build a boxing ring for it, a 16ftx16ft boxing ring. God also told us to build a new backdrop, a 20ft backdrop. God also told us to build a lighting trust, a 14ft tall by 16ft wide lighting trust. The greatest thing was that during October, we were able to go to the Halloween shops and get some costumes and props. The men absolutly loved this play. Also we bought some boxing gloves and Jeremy and Richard took at it durning the fight scene. The fight scene was so tiring that we couldn't practice two times back to back. We had to choreograph it that it looked good and real. We were hitting full fledge, no stoping. If you missed your block or forgot what to do, you paid for it. Jeremy hit Richard many times and visa versa. This was even more tiring than "BTC". We did our best to make it look real and the men said that we did a great job. "Let's Get Ready To Rumble" was preformed in Nov. 2013. We wanted to do something fun for the men for Christmas. So god gave us "Christmas With A Capital C". It is a combination of a skit and a dance. We didn't really practice it much. When we preformed it, we each had our share of mess ups, but the men were laughing along with us. It was a great time. The new year came and we we're suppose to do our play, "Wild, Wild West" but we didn't have it finished in time. So it came time to do it in Feb. 2014. We were suppose to also have two other people with us, David Flores (playing a funny Mexican who is looking for a great game of cards) and Jamie Chisum (a preacher who just happened to be passing through town). Hopefuly we will be able to get them in soon and have a play with them in it. We then had to alter the script a little and work it just with us three. The Gunslinger (Richard) walks into a saloon, Mr. De' Vill's (Jeremy) Saloon. Misty played the Bartender. This was also the play that our new members debuted in, Jack "Spiritous" Miller, Darth "Voodoo" Maul, Dis "Under The Weather" Ease, and the talented Sam "Play It Again" Keys. These "dummys" might not talk a whole lot, but they don't mind being hit and thrown. They played the addictions, alcohol, false prophet, and disease. Sam was just the piano player. When the Gunslinger comes in, he's got a warrant and it's for Satan (Jeremy). The Gunslinger takes out all the addictions and now he's ready for Satan. Satan falls (literary) like always.
